4 1/2 starsImagine you hearing people screaming and see people collapse and soon they're not there anymore. That's exactly what fourteen -year old Mattie heard and saw. Mattie is ambitious, adventurous and is tired of listening to her mother. Mattie has plans of her own. But then the "fever" of 1793 in Philadelphia arrives. Fever spreads where she lives and cemeteries fill up with fever victims. Everyone she loves is threatened with the disease and even she is struggling to stay alive. Everything turns worse when she finds out that Mother disappeared and that intruders break into her house at night. Will she escape this disease and answer her questions or will she not?
