"Waiting for Anya," by Michael Morpurgo, reviewed by Colby W.

5 stars

"Waiting for Anya" takes place in a town in France. Jo is a young shepherd boy who lived during World War II. Jo, the main character in the story isn't just a shepherd ... Jo is also trying to help Jewish children hiding in the barn at the Widow's Farm for a few months until they are ready to escape into Spain. But before they can escape, German soldiers move into town and the danger becomes so much more real! Jo also knows the penalty for helping Jews escape is death!

The author, Michael Morpurgo, used the third person point of view.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes historical fiction. This book is based on a very serious topic.
