What ever you do, don't be Rodrick's friend. One of the characters is Greg Heffly. Greg signed up for swimming so now he has swimming practice every day of the week. In the middle of the story Greg ignores a kid named Charig for doing something mean. Rowly's birthday is one of the events in the story. The dad in the book is working on a civil war project. He's so in to it that he ignores his wife for a week. At the very end Rodrick makes a project for the science fair.

Rodrick is a jerk to Greg so whatever you do do not be friends with Rodrick becase you'll be sory you became his friend.

If your a kid that like's funny stuff this is the book for you.
