How would you like to be passed from owner to owner, giving you the opportunity to experience many adventures? This is exactly how a doll made from lucky mountain ash wood, named Hitty spent her first one hundred years. Hitty gets taken all over the world. She travels from Maine to India. Hitty was carved for a girl named Phoebe Premble. Phoebe loved and cared for Hitty. Until one day on her father's ship, Hitty is accidentally thrown over board. Thankfully, she is rescued from the depths of the sea, so that she can go onto comfort Little Thankful, a very sick child. Hitty goes onto take part in many exotic adventures.
This author uses a unique point of view to tell the story. She tells the story through the doll's eyes. This is a good book for someone who likes dolls and Fantasy. I give this book three stars.
