The Thief lord is a book of mischief and wonder. This book is about a group of friends that live in an old, run down, movie theater named the Stella. The movie theater has rats but it's better than living out in the cold, damp, streets. They live by their "leader's"loot that he steals. He steals everything from silver spoons to sugar tongs. Two brothers come into Venis because their mother told them about it being so beautiful. Their parents died in a car crash and their Aunt is looking for them. She wants to send Prosper, the older brother, to an expensive boarding school and keep Bo. Scippio, or the thief lord, soon takes the two brothers in to the hideout. A mischivious man, Barbarosa, offers the Thief Lord to take on an offer to steal a wooden wing for five million lire! Is it a trap or is it real? Will Scippio take the offer? I would recommend this book to fifth graders who like adventure books. This is a fantastic book.
