The book The Journey takes place in the owl kingdoms where the band of four owls Soren, a Barn owl, Gylfie, an Elf owl, Digger, a Burrowing owl, and Twilight, a Great Gray try to find the great Guardians of Ga'hoole. Months before the main character Soren was captured by St. Agolious patrols. Owls who threaten all the owls in the world by brainwashing and enslaving owls to serve only them. When Soren escaped with his friend that he met in the canyons of the evil owls of St. Agolious Gylfie they meet the owls Digger and Twilight and start their amazing adventure. On the way they face many challenges such as mobs of crows, terrible storms, forest fires, tempting forests, and Bobcats. When they get there they know a terrible secret. Something worse than St. Agolious.
I recommend this book to all fifth graders. The way the author uses suspense and cliff hangers keeps you reading through the night.
